Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

Deb found the records for him, we had him neutered in 2010, 14 years ago and at that time they guessed his age between 6 and 8, so if that is true he is 20-22, so I apologized to him for saying he was older at 24 lol! But who knows, they could be wrong! :gingercat: :jester:

We had to put our Stanley down this morning

I saw a pet grief counselor last week, and she was wonderful. She listened to me and asked me about ALL of the stresses that have been going on in my life, told her about my parents and the nursing home and having to sell everything and lawyers and banks and all and she said "you have had a LOT...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

This morning I was feeding them and he was right in there ready to eat, and when I was spooning the food into the bowls on the counter I looked down and watched him and saw him smushing his face into our big boy Socks, smushing into his fur, then he gave him a few licks on his head, and THAT'S...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

I am so sorry that you had to endure that, that was horrible... He eats a lot and seems to enjoy it, then goes into his little "hole" and either peeps out at us or lays down and sleeps, only to come back out again when he wants to see what else we will give him to eat. It is comical but also...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

And this morning he was standing in the kitchen, alert, came over to greet me, no vomit anywhere, chomping on the dry food, eating the wet food. I think the attention last night helped him, I know that it helped me!

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

He seems to stay in the kitchen all the time now, we don't see him at night out on the sofa like he used to do, we think he stays in the kitchen in his little "nook". We wish he would come out and go other places other than the litter box, but he's going to do what he wants to do. I sat on the...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

I stopped the Now brand cholesterol lowering pill and the anxiety has dropped down to a small amount, I think it was detoxing me and making me crazy like I thought. I was able to talk to some people who asked about Stanley today without being a mess...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

Glad to hear things are going better for you! I am so glad that I had a treadmill stress test 1.5 years ago and all was fine, and so is the doctor. And I truly do believe that the majority of these issues is from the grief of losing our Stanley so suddenly and catastrophically. And I am sure...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

I've been a Broncos fan since 1973 when I was 12 years old in Pennsylvania, so yes I know how fanatical it is out there, especially the 1977 "Miracle" season, my favorite of them all although winning the Super Bowls rank high too! That is TERRIBLE to hear, you're right, she might still be alive...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

I actually went back and read a post that I put on here years ago in your thread, that helped me lol!! Thanks for this!!! And thanks to everyone else too. It is amazing how much pain and anguish it can cause you mentally and physically, and how a lot of the physical symptoms are actually due to...

Struggling now with anxiety after putting Stanley down

Yesterday was a month since we put Stanley down, and we both (mostly me) have been dealing with anxiety. Two weeks ago it was 80 degrees here and I was very agitated thanks to an issue with my parents in the nursing home and late in the afternoon went out to split some firewood, but I was in a...

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

His "routine" now consists of staying in the kitchen during the day, seeing what we have and will give him, but he likes to "hide out" in a little corner crook in the kitchen, he's not hiding because he doesn't feel good we think that he just likes this because he can still be in the kitchen but...
